Organised by the Institute of Employment Rights
The public sector is shrinking as a result of the government’s
austerity measures, and workers’ rights and public services are
being undermined. Private businesses are taking over both frontline
service delivery and back-office functions. This event will
look at a number of issues facing the public sector – facility time,
collective agreements, privatisation and more, and will consider the
implications of the profit motive for workers’ rights in the public
sector.
Speakers: Kevan Nelson, UNISON, Paul McCarthy, GMB,
