Archaeologists Against Austerity: in support of the People’s Assembly

May 19, 2013

We, professional and academic archaeologists, wish to endorse the call for a People’s Assembly Against Austerity (PAAA) at Central Hall Westminster on 22 June this year. We congratulate the lead signatories who launched this call in a letter to The Guardian in February.

With our museums, universities, and heritage services facing cuts, with unemployment and poverty a common experience among archaeologists, we fully support the aim of building a mass campaign against austerity and privatisation. We need a radical alternative based on investment for jobs, homes, public services, and a green transition.

We hope that the PAAA will bring together thousands of trade unionists, students, political activists, anti-cuts campaigners, minority groups, and others determined to defend our society against the effects of a crisis caused by the bankers, the rich, and the casino-economy they engineered.

The assembly will provide a national forum for anti-austerity opinion, which, while increasingly widespread, is barely represented in Parliament and the mainstream media. It could also provide a launch-pad for the wave of protests, strikes, occupations, and mass resistance – nationally and internationally – that we are going to need to defend our jobs, incomes, public services, and heritage in the years ahead.

BROKEN BRITISH POLITICS – COUNTRY RUN BY CRIMMINALS
Thatcher started the ball rolling with her private talks with Unum.Blair continued and charged them with the overall Welfare System. The years of talks were crucial to the Governments for them to construct the Welfare Bill .Unum is behind ATOS basically an IT company .They are also involved in NHS changes .Mutterings recently about limiting Doctors visits to three per year is the start to force the General Public to take out Private Medical Insurance .UNUM is the World’s biggest Disability Insurer .They are Banned in several states in America as not fit for purpose described as such by US Insurance Commissioners .So successive Governments have colluded with an outlawed Company to take charge of our Benefits System, the NHS and NEST the new Pensions Scheme .Fascist Smith is being led by UNUM for his enhancement and our detriment .Where is the Law of the Land. http://brokenbritishpolitics.simplesite.com

BROKEN BRITISH POLITICS – CAMERON –DODGEY DAVE
Cameron is running from one rescue mission to another for his credibility ,he has just promised £375 million to Foreign Aid ,whilst we have Poverty in this Country .No wonder Blair repealed the Treason Act .Labour now is just another wing of the Tories with Millionaire Miliband following traitor Blair’s doctrine to join forces with limp wristed Dave to try and keep UKIP out of the race .
Hitler would have been proud of the deception the British Public are enduring ,but who’s fault is that the majority of the British public .Thatcher instilled in us ‘competition ‘ a dog eat dog mentality .
It is only those more vulnerable within our society that voice their opinions because they have been totally let down by this Country and been left out on a limb .Take a moments pause to reflect that the changes will eventually affect you when your voice will be too late .I’m alright Jack is their motto – let it not be ours . http://brokenbritishpolitics.simplesie.com

BROKEN BRITISH POLITICS – CAMERONS PINOCCHIO SYNDROME
Cameron’s ticket in Government similar to Blair’s is sustained by Lies and Deceit .The Pinocchio syndrome has spread to all Departments for them to display any signs of credibility .The draconian Welfare Reforms will take £19 billion per year out of the Economy which will be borne by the poorest and most vulnerable within society .£11.3 billion in Foreign Aid that’s £30.3 billion robbed from the Tax Payers of this Country and don’t forget everyone pays Tax one way or another .
Clegg posturing wanting the Communications Bill being taken out of the Queens speech,Haigh stating GCHQ is not Trawling peoples mail .All this Government need to do is ask the USA whats going on in people’s private lives here .As well as being Robbed we are being monitored for further curbs on our Freedom.http://brokenbritishpolitics.simplesite.com
